1. Another State Line (4:53)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music (ASCAP)
Mandolin, modern country
groove. An autobiographical song about being moved about as a child, going
off to college, learning from Momma to crave an adventurous life.
2.
The Easy Way (3:16)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music (ASCAP)
Medium country rock, almost
titled “I Want to Go Downhill”. She is exploring the fantasy of giving up
and taking ‘the easy way’ for a change.
3. How It All Started (4:00)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music (ASCAP)
A bouncy ‘sing-a-long’ groove
with a great hook. A bittersweet reminiscence of young summer love.
4.
My Miner (3:51)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music (ASCAP)
Slow and contemplative, sparse
production of acoustic guitar, vocals and dobro. It’s about the fear of
loving someone with a dangerous road to take.
5. Let The Lover Be (2:53)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music (ASCAP)
Upbeat, positive country train beat
groove about letting those in love off the hook for their little faults and
foibles. Fat, thin, distracted, selfish….just let the lover be.
6.
Flying (4:03)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music (ASCAP)
Medium country rock. The singer
looks down from an airplane and gets some perspective on life. She sees
“the beauty in the ruin” (the title of this CD). |
7. Beware (3:19)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music (ASCAP)
Rock / blues in a minor key with
screaming slide guitar. Explores the dangers of going through life and the
warnings we hear every day. “Beware of the water, beware of the sky,
there’s a thousand ways to die.”
.8.
Just Let Me Go (3:42)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music (ASCAP)
A waltzing 6/8 feel with
electric piano and pedal steel. The singer wants to escape the stagnation
of her life, but is it her situation or her fear that is holding her back?
“If you’d just let me go, I know I could fly”.
9. Get It And Go (4:30)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music
(ASCAP)
Starts intimate, but kicks into
a rocking country groove. The singer would like to get out of a
relationship that has no future, but can’t seem to let go.
10. Sorry (4:38)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music (ASCAP)
Medium bouncy modern
blues-tinged groove. Maybe this is pointed at a lover, maybe a politician,
perhaps a friend, but someone is going to regret their bad behavior.
11.
Born Again (3:52)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music (ASCAP)
Rockin’ funky tune full of
attitude about wanting to change bad habits, but, hey, it’s probably not
gonna happen. “I’ve already been born again a hundred times before.”
12.
The Last Waltz (4:40)
(Abi Tapia) Wanderlusty Music / Golly Gee Music (ASCAP)
Beautiful medium waltz with fiddle and pedal steel guitar. The singer
recalls her first dance, and then pines for the waltz later in life. The CD
plays out to a reprise of the fiddle and steel waltzing off into the
sunset. |
